You were bought with a price

Some people, when trying to explain the concept of salvation, use the illustration of a drowning man who was rescued by pulling him out to safety with a lifeline. That’s a misrepresentation of the salvation Jesus brought. A better illustration would be that the man had been condemned to death by drowning for his wrong. He’d been gagged, bound hand-and-foot, and about to be thrown into the raging sea. Then Jesus comes and says, “Don’t kill him; I’ll take his place and drown in his stead.” Jesus didn’t just throw him a lifeline, or send in divers, or swim the treacherous water to drag him out to safety. No, he took his place of condemnation and drowned in his stead! For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God’s 1 Corinthians 6:20

That’s the right perspective of the salvation Christ purchased for us with His own blood. So when you talk about Jesus saving you, you’re not talking about someone who delivered you from trouble. No. he saved you by giving his life for you.
The salvation we have in Christ is serious business; Jesus paid a huge price by giving Himself in our place so we are free. You therefore can’t afford to live the way you choose anymore, for a price has been paid; you‘ve been bought. Now you belong to Him and not to yourself.
The bible says you’re not your own 1 Corinthians 6: 19. If you’re born again, you’ve been bought with a price and now you ought to live for the Lord, and follow His choices for you

How to follow Jesus

Following Jesus is not going to church always, it is not praying always, it is not reading the bible always etc. although, all these activities are good but they do not make one a follower of Christ Jesus. Matthew 19:16-21, the rich young ruler was perfect in all of them yet something was missing which was the most important one. In the book of John 3:1 Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jew, was disqualified in spite of his knowledge of the law.              What is following Jesus? So, what is following Jesus? Following Jesus Christ is living by the word of God. Luke 4:4 and Jesus answered him saying man shall not live by bread alone, by every word of God. This is living your life according to the direction of the Word of God. It is abiding in the word of God or Jesus. John 15:4-5.     Steps to follow  ·          You must believe in Jesus Christ, John 3:16   ·          You must be born again John 3:3 ·          You must have faith in God. Heb 11:1-6 ·

Salvation is for the Living

Some people have asked if Christians could intercede on behalf of a person who died without receiving Christ, so such a person could go to heaven instead of hell. The answer is No. “For the grave cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth” Isaiah 38:18-19. Anyone who didn’t receive Christ while on earth stands condemned. In John 3:18, Jesus said, “… but he that believeth not is condemned already….”   So, the one who dies without knowing Christ, died in condemnation, and it would be of no use praying for such a one to go to heaven because the choice of whether to make heaven or not is personal one.   It’s important to realize that the salvation message is for the living and not the dead. You can only receive Christ as Lord and Saviour in response to the Gospel while you’re still in the earth. Jesus

Keys to Effectual Prayers

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him. Lord, teach us to pray… (Lake 11:1)   When you study the lives of the early prophets and the apostles, even the Lord Jesus Christ, you’d find they were very effective in their prayer lives. In our opening verse, disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray because they observed His prayers' effectiveness. So, it’s not just enough to pray; it’s the effectual, fervent prayer of the righteous man that produces results.   There’re scriptural rules and guidelines for effectual prayers. There are some things you have to pray about continually, you intercede continually; and there’re things that you pray for only once because if you keep praying about them, you’re getting into unbelief, rather than applying faith.    Meanwhile, there’re things you’re not even supposed to pray for, because no matter how long you pray about them, God is not going to respond becaus
