Give no place to the devil

Neither give place to the devil (Ephesians 4:27).    Our adversary, the devil is a defeated foe; Jesus completely paralyzed and stripped him of all his Armour when He descended into hell from the cross (Colossians 2:15). However, he thrives on the ignorance of people and uses deceit and fear to keep them in bondage. This is why the bible admonishes that we “give no place to the devil.”    The Good News Bible puts it this way: “don’t give the devil a chance.” In other words, stop him in his tracks before he starts playing his games around you. For example, anger and bitterness open a door for the enemy in a person’s life. The bible says “If you are angry, don’t sin by nursing your grudge. Don’t let the sun go down with you still angry-get over it quickly; for when you are angry, you give a mighty foothold to the devil” (Ephesians 4:26-27)(the living Bible).    Nursing pains and sickness in your body can also give the devil a mighty foothold.
