Be a Champion

And God sent me before you to preserve you a posterity in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance (Genesis 45:7).   In life, you’re either a victor or victim. There’re those who barely manage to survive; they’re the ones who fall victims of the economy and systems of the world. What they’re mostly interested in and concerned about is keeping their heads above water, so long as they and their small nucleus family are content.   On the other hand, there are those who go through life with a different mindset-they win for others. They aren’t content to have just enough to merely get by; they drive themselves to make things better for the sake of others. Simply put, they’re the world’s problem-solvers. They’re the champions of our day! They’re always bursting with ideas on how to solve the problems that they face, so that other might also benefit from the solution.   You’ll find such an example in David, who, during his showdown with Goliath, had several thoughts

Get excited about God

Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desire of thine heart (psalm 37:4).    When the Bible says you should “delight yourself in the Lord”, that’s another way of saying “Get excited about God!” To be “excited” means “to be stirred by strong emotion;” that means when you think about God, you’re stirred in your heart. It means that you think about him fondly and want to do anything to please God and be in His presence. He said “I was glad when they said unto me; let us go into the house of the Lord” (Psalm 122:1)! He was so excited about God that God called him the “…man after mine own heart” (Acts 13:22).    The Bible says “then shalt thou delight thyself in the LORD; and I will cause thee to ride upon the high places of the earth, and feed thee with the heritage of Jacob thy father…” (Isaiah 58:14). Did you see that? People who are excited about God will always have the supernatural happening in their lives; God personally causes them to live above the

You are a miracle worker

Very, very, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my father (John 14:12).   The Lord Jesus performed several miracles while he was here on earth; He healed the sick, raised the dead, multiplied food, and turned water into wine. His life was an unending stream of miraculous. As He prepared to leave the earth, he declared that those who believe in him would do even greater works than he did. That means He has made us miracles workers just like Him! He said “very, very, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.   When Peter and John met the crippled man at the gate of the temple, Peter said “silver and gold have I none; but such as I have give I thee: in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk” (Act 3:6). Then Peter grabbed the man’s hand and lifted him up and h

Pull down the strongholds

For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds (2 Corinthians 10:4)     When the bible talks about “strongholds”, it doesn’t refer to spiritual structures which the enemy has put in place. Observe that this verse 4 is in parenthesis and is explained by verse 5 which is directly connected to verse 3. Now, verse 5 reads “[inasmuch as we] refute arguments {and} theories {and} reasonings and every proud {and} lofty thing that sets itself up against the [true]knowledge of God; and we lead every thought {and}purpose away captive into the obedience of Christ (the Messiah, the Anointed One)” (2 Corinthians 10:5 AMP).    So, it’s clear what “strongholds” refer to: ideas, thoughts, principles, arguments and reasoning of men, which are contrary to God’s word. For example, certain folks hold on tenaciously to the belief that God uses sickness to punish His children; that’s a stronghold that keeps them in bondage. But we have w

Developing your faith

Now faith is the substance of things hope for, the evidence of things not seen (Hebrew 11:1).   Something very important you need to understand about the subject of faith is that faith is NOW. While hope looks forward to the blessings of God coming to pass, faith possesses. So in walking by faith, you’re not hoping or believing to have anything, for you already possess all things. You’re not expecting anything from God, for all things have been made available to you in Christ Jesus.   Many people express hope and wonder why there’s been no change in their situation. Faith is what works, not hope. Hope is futuristic, while faith is of the present. There’s a different between “believe for a miracle” and “I have a miracle!” you’re already a believer; and according to the Bible, the believer is a possessor; a “haver”-“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life:” (John 3:36).    So, I say to you today, stop waiting for God to do something about your case; take what’s

There’s more for you

But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day (Proverbs 4:18).    Christianity is a beautiful life of ever-increasing glory. Everything just keeps getting better and better. Where you start and how you start, really don’t matter; but as you walk with the Lord and get more acquainted with Him through fellowship, you’re transformed from glory to glory. There’s always something better for you; a greater and higher level of success to aspire to. Therefore, refuse the status quo and press on in victory.    It doesn’t matter how glorious your journey of faith has been; there’s always something better for you in Christ. All you need do is open the eyes of your spirit to see the greater glory that lies ahead. This is where fellowship with the word and the Holy Spirit in indispensable. The Bible says in 1 Corinthians 2:12, “ Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things

The Lord never fails

In thee, O Lord, do I put my trust: let me never be put to confusion (Psalm 71:1).  The Bible says “Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today, and forever” (Hebrew 13:8). He assured us that thought heaven and earth will pass away His word will remain forever. That means he can be trusted. You can depend on Him to take care of you, for He’s absolutely dependable.   The Lord never fails or disappoints. The Bible describes Him as the friend that stick closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:34); He is the very present help in time of need (Psalm 46:1). Learn to put your trust in God alone, and rest your faith on His word. Let His eternal word be your hope and the anchor for your soul for his word never fails. His Word always comes forth with enough power to effect a change in you.    Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Put your trust in the all-powerful and eternal Name of Jesus. That’s the name that is higher than any other name, and at the mention of that Name every knee bows,
