Who is Jesus?

Romans 1:1-4       Jesus Christ was declared to be the son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead, in other words, by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, He was proved to be the son of God. So not only was He declared the son of God, not only did the prophet declare Him to be the son of God, He was proved to be the son of God with power by the resurrection from the dead. He not only said He was, He proved that He was the son of God. We said who is Jesus? ·         He is the son of God ·         He is the savior of the world (John 3:16; 1 John 4:14) Before we go any further, I want you to examine that verse; John 3:16, now what was said here was not a promise, I want you to understand the construction of that language it says “God gave His son to the world that whosoever believes should not perish”, this is a law; it’s a sovereign declaration of Almighty God that anybody who believes in Jesus should not perish. That

Beautifying Your Spirit with the Word of God

Man is a spirit being and not a physical body. Many, however, have put a premium on their outward appearance; they go through rigorous exercises and dietary plans; some even go through severe surgical procedures to maintain or enhance their physical looks. “When Moses came down from Mount Sinai carrying the two Tablets of The Testimony, he didn’t know that the skin of his face glowed because he had been speaking with God” Exodus 34:29.   But you see, don’t be carried away by all the praise you might receive for your outward appearance. The truth is, there’s no glory like that of your spirit. That should be your dream: beautifying your human spirit!    1 Peter 1:23 says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever.” Thus, you’re born of the Word, and contemplating the word should be a priority. When you study the word or receive its ministry in teaching or

The Gift for All men

Eternal life is God’s gift to the world, not to Christians. You become a Christian only after you’ve received eternal life, which is the life and nature of God. What Jesus came to do, the salvation He brought was for the whole world. So, in the mind of justice, the whole world has been saved, because Jesus paid the price for every man’s sin. This is legal salvation. Vital salvation is only received by personal faith in Jesus Christ. “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16. Romans 6:23 says, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”   Unless one acknowledge, and accepts His vicarious sacrifice, he won’t experience the vital reality of the finished works of salvation in his personal life. That’s where we come in; those of us who have become Christians have a responsibility to tell the world what Jesus did. M

Living by His Faith

When Jesus died on the Cross, He knew that if we got to hear about His love, we’d believe and become one with Him. He had faith in what He did, in His vicarious sacrifice for us. He trusted that we’d become everything He died, was buried, and rose back to life for. That’s the faith of the Son of God by which we’re to live.    Think about it this way: imagine that you have a son who’s about to sit for his final exam. The exam costs quite some money, but you’re ready to stake everything. You say to him. “Son, all the money we have at the moment is what we’re paying for you to sit for this exam, but that’s nothing, because we trust you’d be successful, and as a result, things will change for the family.”     Now, your son understands that the hope of the entire family is on him; he knows he’s got to be successful at this exam; he can’t afford to disappoint the family. So, he’ll act on your faith in him –which will become his driving force. His friends may be partying, but

You have absolute rest in Christ

The life that Christ has given you is one of absolute rest and peace. It makes no difference how dire things get or the challenges you face; your victory is guaranteed. You and Christ are one, and because you’re in union with him, you can never be disadvantaged; you’re triumphant always and in every place; you’re unshakable. “There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his res, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief” Hebrews 4:9-11.   An old songwriter said, “He never said you’ll only see sunshine; He never said there’d be no rain, but He surely promised us a heart full of singing.” In other words, come what may, you’re a victor. Some people aren’t sure what life has in store for them; they live with uncertainty. But in Christ, there’s assurance.     Romans 8:35-37says, “who shall separate us from the love of Ch

Christians Rule the World for Christ

Talking about the Lord Jesus, the bible says, “…he must reign, till he hath put all enemies under his feet” 1 Corinthians 15:25. This is not about Him reigning in heaven, but in the earth. Legally, God has put all things under His feet. Ephesians1:22 say, “And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church.”   So, Jesus is the head over all things. “The Lord will send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thy enemies” Psalm 110:2.   Isaiah 9:6 says, “for unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder….” Notice, it doesn’t say the government shall be upon his head, but upon His shoulder. Jesus is the head; the government is upon His shoulder, that shoulder is, His body-the Church. Therefore, when the Psalmist declared, “The Lord will let your power reach out from Zion, and you will rule over your enemies” Psalm110:2CEV

You are empowered with all might

It’s God’s will for us to be strengthened; that is, empowered with all might (miracles-working) power in our spirits! Ponder on that for a moment. He wants us filled, not with some of His power, but with all of it. He’s dealing here with “Dunamis” a Greek work for inherent power. He wants this power working in you. “…That ye might walk worthy of the Lord unto all pleasing, being fruitful in and every good work, increasing in the knowledge of God; Strengthened with all might, according to his glorious power, unto all patience and longsuffering with joyfulness”   Colossians 1:9-10.     This shouldn’t be difficult for any Christian to comprehend at all, because the one who’s born again, and has received the Holy Spirit, has received the power of God; for the Holy Spirit is power of God. When we talk about the new life in Christ Jesus, we also mean new power that is in us as Christians. Act 1:8 says, “But ye shall receive power after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you….” The que

You are Born Blessed in the New life in Christ Jesus

Someone might whine, “It looks like a curse runs in my family, because no one seems to be making progress.” No; not when you’re born again or when you have the new life in Christ Jesus. The new creation in Christ Jesus is born blessed and can’t walk under a curse. “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ” Ephesians 1:3.    Isaiah 10:27 declares, “And it shall come to pass in that day, that his burden shall be taken away from off thy shoulder, and his yoke from off thy neck, and the yoke shall be destroyed because of the anointing.” This verse doesn’t mean that the anointing breaks the yoke. Yes, the anointing breaks the yoke, but this particular portion of scripture lets us know that because of the presence of the anointing, you can’t be “yoked.” In other words, when a yoke is placed on a Christian, it necessarily breaks upon contact with the anointing, because the Christian is anoi

The God-life is in you

Your consciousness of your personality, origin, and heritage in Christ will affect the way you live, control the decisions make, and the things that happen with, and around you. This is why you should be conscious of the life of God that’s in you. The Lord Jesus said in John 5:26, “For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself.” We read from 1 John 5:11-12, “And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son. He that hath the son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.” That God has given us eternal life. What is this eternal life?   Eternal life is the life and nature of God imparted to the spirit of the one who believes in Jesus. It’s the supernatural life of God in your spirit, making you invincible, indestructible, and superior to Satan, sickness, disease, failure and death. The Apostle John in 1 John 5:13 writes, “These things have I written unto you that beli

You are alive by the Spirit

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you Romans 8:11. God gave birth to us by the Word, through the spirit. You’re not ordinary person if you are in Christ or if you have the new life in Christ Jesus. The human life you received from your parents has been replaced, supplanted, by the divine life of Christ. 1 Peter 1:23 says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of corruptible, by the word of god, which liveth and abideth forever.”    Often, I tell people that Christianity is more than a legal document; it’s a vital experience; there’s a true life from Christ beating in your heart which is the new life in Christ Jesus. The natural man (anyone without the New Life in Christ Jesus or anyone who is not born again) lives by blood, but a Christian lives by the Spirit. No wonder Jesus, referring to the new creation, as, “…if the

The Word of God is the Seed of Divine Life

The Bible declares that Jesus Christ was born of a virgin. That’s significant because the life of human being comes from the man, and not from the woman. “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever” 1 Peter 1:23. Howbeit, the body of a human being comes from the woman. It’s therefore something extraordinary for Jesus to be born of a virgin. Where did His life come from? It came from the Word.   The angel brought words from God to the Virgin Mary Luke 1:35. Mary believed and received the word (the seed of God), and the Holy Spirit came upon her to conceive the child without the agency of the seed of man. The Word that God spoke to her formed the seed in her. The Word of God is the seed of God Luke 8:11; that’s the seed of divine life, just as the life of an orange tree is in the little orange seed.   When you receive God’s Word (or you receive the new life in Christ Jesus), you receive the life of w

The New Life in the Word of God

Christianity is an exciting life; a life of victory through the Word. Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth forever 1 Peter 1:23 . Religious Christianity teaches that you have to struggle to please God, and to walk with Him. But in true Christianity, you don’t need to struggle to please God because the Holy Spirit helps you live the faith life that pleases Him. All you have to do is pay attention to Him through the Word of God. This is because the Word of God is the life. The place we read say “…word of God,… liveth and abideth forever” that means the Word of God is alive and living, it does not change. The Word of God is dependable.   We are not born again by struggling; we are born again by the Word of God so we are to live by the Word.    Those who live according to the Word of God don’t need to keep worrying whether or not they are pleasing God. It takes faith to please God; “But wi

A New Life of Power over Sin

Jesus died to save man from sin, but salvation from sin wasn’t enough. We were free from sin and the consequences of sin, but weren’t from the power of sin. The resurrection of Jesus gave us a new life and power over sin. Thus, the power to live above sin came from the resurrection; the resurrection brought us a new life of righteousness. “…if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Roman10:9       This is why it’s compulsory that we understand that true salvation is based on our faith in the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. If anyone believes in the death and doesn’t believe in the resurrection, their salvation isn’t complete, because the resurrection is what gives us eternal life.   We read in our opening verse, “… if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.”

Graced for Greatness in the New life

And Abraham was old, and well stricken in age: and the Lord had blessed Abraham in all things Genesis24:1     God blessed Abraham in all things and made him the father of many nations: “As for me, behold, my covenant is with thee, and thou shalt be a father of many nations” Genesis 17:4. Thus, he had nations inside him. The story of Isaac, his son, is remarkable too. When his two sons, Jacob and Esau, were conceived, the Lord told Rebekah, their mother, “…Two nations are in thy womb…” Genesis25:23; and those nations produced more nations. However, they weren’t the ones that God had in mind.    In Romans 9:7, God didn’t say, “…Isaac shall thy seed be called”; rather, He said, “… Isaac shall thy seed be called.” This means He wasn’t referring to the biological descendants of Abraham, but the Christ: “Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ” Galatians 3:16.       Galatians 3:29

Christians are ministers of life and grace

Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto the hearers. Ephesians 4:29      As Christians, we have the Spirit of Christ. We are the light of the world. We are to live, love, talk and conduct all our affairs in life like Him. Your words should minister grace to the hearers always.     Some people aren’t conscious of this reality. They are controlled by their senses: they do the things they want to do and say what they want to say according to their feelings. Such people pride themselves in having terrible, abusive, and insulting words. When they are angry, they don’t hesitate to speak words that could make the hearers lose sleep. They are proud of what they should be ashamed of. The bible says of them, “their God is their appetite.” If only they knew the dire consequences of their actions. Philippians 3:18-19 says, “for many walk, of whom I have told you often, and now tell you even we
