Have you ever paused to think about what it truly means to be seated with Christ? The Apostle Paul gives us a powerful revelation in Romans 8:17 — “And if children, then heirs; heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ; if so be that we suffer with him, that we may be also glorified together.”
This verse isn’t just a comforting promise; it’s a declaration of our divine position. We are not merely followers or distant beneficiaries of God’s grace — we are **joint-heirs** with Christ Himself.
Paul further explains this truth in Ephesians 1:20, where he describes how God raised Jesus from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly realms — a place of supreme power and glory. But that’s not all! Ephesians 2:6 adds something even more astonishing: “And hath raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.”
Think about that — we are seated together with Christ!
The phrase “sit together” comes from the Greek word “sugkathizo,” which means joint sitting or shared authority. This means that as believers, we share in Christ’s victory, power, and authority. We are where He is, and we have what He has. His authority extends to us, and ours operates through His Name.
Everything Jesus commands is done in His Name, and everything we declare is carried out through that same divine authority. It’s not just symbolic — it’s legal and heavenly. Our “joint sitting” isn’t something earthly or imagined; it’s a spiritual reality established from Heaven itself.
Jesus confirmed this in Matthew 18:18 when He said, “Verily I say unto you, whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven.”
We are His legal representatives on earth. What we speak, declare, or forbid in alignment with His Word is endorsed in Heaven. This means we have both the privilege and the responsibility to manifest God’s glory in our world — to bring His Kingdom wherever we are.
So walk in that confidence today. You’re not struggling to earn power; you’re already seated in power. You’re not begging for authority; you share authority with Christ. Let your words and actions reflect Heaven’s will, and boldly establish God’s Kingdom right where you are.
Hallelujah!
