Stand in the evil day

Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand (Ephesians 6:13).
Right after the baptism of the Lord Jesus, He was led by the Spirit to the wilderness where He was tempted by the devil (Luke 4:1-12). I want you to notice the words “for a season…” It means it wasn’t over yet; the enemy went away to return at a later date. As Christians we need to realize that the enemy shows up like this from time to time, and that’s what the Bible refers to as the “evil day.”
Satan can’t be everywhere at the same time, he goes from place to place as he has opportunity. He’s a defeated foe, but he’s full of deceit. That’s why the Bible admonishes that you give him no place so he doesn’t take you unawares, and also tells you to “…take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day…”

The evil day is when all hell seems to have broken loose against you; it’s when the doctor unexpectedly announces there’s trouble in your body! The evil day is when problems suddenly arise at your work-place or when your healthy child suddenly begins to convulse. This is why as Christians we’re instructed to put on the whole armour of God, so that we may be able to stand in the evil day. He didn’t say the evil day will not come, but that when it does, you’ll be to quell it by the shield of faith.
Don’t wait until trouble strikes; keep your armour on! Remember, you’ve already defected Satan and have overcome the world; you’re already more than a conqueror (Romans 8: 37). Nothing is powerful enough to destroy you. However, you must stand firm against all strategies and tricks of the devil, for that’s all he’s got-tricks.

How to follow Jesus

Following Jesus is not going to church always, it is not praying always, it is not reading the bible always etc. although, all these activities are good but they do not make one a follower of Christ Jesus. Matthew 19:16-21, the rich young ruler was perfect in all of them yet something was missing which was the most important one. In the book of John 3:1 Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jew, was disqualified in spite of his knowledge of the law.              What is following Jesus? So, what is following Jesus? Following Jesus Christ is living by the word of God. Luke 4:4 and Jesus answered him saying man shall not live by bread alone, by every word of God. This is living your life according to the direction of the Word of God. It is abiding in the word of God or Jesus. John 15:4-5.     Steps to follow  ·          You must believe in Jesus Christ, John 3:16   ·          You must be born again John 3:3 ·          You must have faith in God. Heb 11:1-6 ·

Salvation is for the Living

Some people have asked if Christians could intercede on behalf of a person who died without receiving Christ, so such a person could go to heaven instead of hell. The answer is No. “For the grave cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth” Isaiah 38:18-19. Anyone who didn’t receive Christ while on earth stands condemned. In John 3:18, Jesus said, “… but he that believeth not is condemned already….”   So, the one who dies without knowing Christ, died in condemnation, and it would be of no use praying for such a one to go to heaven because the choice of whether to make heaven or not is personal one.   It’s important to realize that the salvation message is for the living and not the dead. You can only receive Christ as Lord and Saviour in response to the Gospel while you’re still in the earth. Jesus

Keys to Effectual Prayers

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him. Lord, teach us to pray… (Lake 11:1)   When you study the lives of the early prophets and the apostles, even the Lord Jesus Christ, you’d find they were very effective in their prayer lives. In our opening verse, disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray because they observed His prayers' effectiveness. So, it’s not just enough to pray; it’s the effectual, fervent prayer of the righteous man that produces results.   There’re scriptural rules and guidelines for effectual prayers. There are some things you have to pray about continually, you intercede continually; and there’re things that you pray for only once because if you keep praying about them, you’re getting into unbelief, rather than applying faith.    Meanwhile, there’re things you’re not even supposed to pray for, because no matter how long you pray about them, God is not going to respond becaus
