Your mouth is your weapon

And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp two-edged sword… Revelation 1:16
Your mouth is a dangerous weapon which can work for or against you, depending on how you use it. When the Bible tells us to take “the sword of the spirit, which is the word of God” Ephesians 6:17, the term “sword” is actually referring to your mouth. The Greek word translated “mouth” actually means “the front or edge of a weapon.”
When you open your mouth and begin to speak words in faith, you are using your weapon to ward off whatever comes against you. You can use it to cut the adversary down, and chart the course of your life! When you say, “I rebuke this sickness in the name of Jesus”, you are destroying that sickness from its roots! You are cutting down the cancer, cutting down the diabetes, cutting down that heart trouble.
When you rebuke poverty in the name of Jesus, you are destroying poverty from your life.
Now, with this information in your mind, imagine how terrible the consequences when you talk negatively to yourself. When you say things like “I’m so sick” or “I’m broke.” Do you know what you’re doing? You are turning that same weapon, which should have been targeted at destroying the adversary, against yourself. In essence, you’re like a man who points a loaded gun at his own head to destroy himself. When you’re conscious of what happens as you speak, you’ll be more careful with your words.

Refuse to talk negatively in your life; use your mouth to speak words that will build your life and keep the adversary defeated. Let the consciousness of the cutting edge of your “mouth-weapon” be in your mind every time you speak. Use your weapon the right way today, to keep the enemy where he belongs- and that is under your feet.

You are alive by the Spirit

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you Romans 8:11. God gave birth to us by the Word, through the spirit. You’re not ordinary person if you are in Christ or if you have the new life in Christ Jesus. The human life you received from your parents has been replaced, supplanted, by the divine life of Christ. 1 Peter 1:23 says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of corruptible, by the word of god, which liveth and abideth forever.”    Often, I tell people that Christianity is more than a legal document; it’s a vital experience; there’s a true life from Christ beating in your heart which is the new life in Christ Jesus. The natural man (anyone without the New Life in Christ Jesus or anyone who is not born again) lives by blood, but a Christian lives by the Spirit. No wonder Jesus, referring to the ne...

The Reign of Death is over

Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come (Romans 5:14)  Satan became the god of this earth because he got it from Adam who lost out through disobedience, resulting significantly in the reign of death. Remember, God had told Adam, “… in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (Genesis 2:17). He was talking about spiritual death; spiritual death is the cause of physical death. So, our theme verse says, “Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses (the Law of Moses)…”  But who had the power of death? The Bible says, “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil” (Hebrews 2:14). Satan was actually behind this reign of death. Now, here’s something exciting that I want ...

The Divinity of Jesus

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father; but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, have seen him” John 14:6-7.   “Is Jesus really God?”   This is one question many still ask today. They believe He was a great prophet and teacher, but find it difficult to accept that He is Himself God, but He is. The Bible says “In the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God, and the Word was God ” John 1:1. That “Word” that the Bible says “was God” became flesh-Jesus- and dwelt among us: “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” John 1:14.     Now, the prophecy that came forth before the birth of Jesus also foretold His divinity: “Behold, a virgin shall be with a child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanue...
