Lay Hold On Eternal Life

Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witness (1Timothy 6:12).
Have you ever seen eternal life? Or can you describe what it look like? The answers are obvious, yet the scripture above tells us to lay hold on it. How can you lay hold on something that’s intangible? The answer is provided in the same verse: “lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession (or confession).” You lay hold on eternal life through your confessions of faith!
When the scriptures tell us to “lay hold” on eternal life, it isn’t suggesting that eternal life is trying to escape from you. The fact is that the circumstances of life will try to make you doubt the presence of that life. This is why he tells you to “lay hold” on it. For example, if sickness attacks your body, you may not “feel” like somebody who has eternal life; this is why you must insist on that life dominating the outer man. This is where your confessions of faith come in. The way to “lay hold” on your healing is by declaring that you’re healed and healthy, irrespective of how your body feels.
The same thing applies to other areas of your life in Christ-you “lay hold” on your prosperity with your confessions. You re-echo everything that God has said concerning you in His Word. All that are associated with the eternal life you have received are things you don’t see with your physical eyes, that’s why you have to ‘lay hold” on them by faith.

How to follow Jesus

Following Jesus is not going to church always, it is not praying always, it is not reading the bible always etc. although, all these activities are good but they do not make one a follower of Christ Jesus. Matthew 19:16-21, the rich young ruler was perfect in all of them yet something was missing which was the most important one. In the book of John 3:1 Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jew, was disqualified in spite of his knowledge of the law.              What is following Jesus? So, what is following Jesus? Following Jesus Christ is living by the word of God. Luke 4:4 and Jesus answered him saying man shall not live by bread alone, by every word of God. This is living your life according to the direction of the Word of God. It is abiding in the word of God or Jesus. John 15:4-5.     Steps to follow  ·          You must believe in Jesus Christ, John 3:16   ·          You must be born again John 3:3 ·          You must have faith in God. Heb 11:1-6 ·

Salvation is for the Living

Some people have asked if Christians could intercede on behalf of a person who died without receiving Christ, so such a person could go to heaven instead of hell. The answer is No. “For the grave cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth” Isaiah 38:18-19. Anyone who didn’t receive Christ while on earth stands condemned. In John 3:18, Jesus said, “… but he that believeth not is condemned already….”   So, the one who dies without knowing Christ, died in condemnation, and it would be of no use praying for such a one to go to heaven because the choice of whether to make heaven or not is personal one.   It’s important to realize that the salvation message is for the living and not the dead. You can only receive Christ as Lord and Saviour in response to the Gospel while you’re still in the earth. Jesus

Keys to Effectual Prayers

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him. Lord, teach us to pray… (Lake 11:1)   When you study the lives of the early prophets and the apostles, even the Lord Jesus Christ, you’d find they were very effective in their prayer lives. In our opening verse, disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray because they observed His prayers' effectiveness. So, it’s not just enough to pray; it’s the effectual, fervent prayer of the righteous man that produces results.   There’re scriptural rules and guidelines for effectual prayers. There are some things you have to pray about continually, you intercede continually; and there’re things that you pray for only once because if you keep praying about them, you’re getting into unbelief, rather than applying faith.    Meanwhile, there’re things you’re not even supposed to pray for, because no matter how long you pray about them, God is not going to respond becaus
