How to Receive the New Life in Christ Jesus

The new life in Christ Jesus is a special kind of life which God has made available for every human being after the fall of man from the glory. In the beginning, man was created to have authority and dominion over all the earth and anything that exist in the world. Genesis 1:26, “And God said let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth and over every creeping that creepeth upon the earth.”  Underline the statement, “let us make man in our image, after our likeness” Did you know that you were created in the image of God? That means you look like God! I would suggest you take a closer look at yourself on a mirror. The very image you are looking is the image of God not an animal or higher animal but of God. Another thing you should note from the statement is that you were made to act like God. After our likeness, how is God like? how does He act? God takes dominion and rules over everything in the universe and He created a mini copy of Himself in man so that man could rule the world.

Why man is not in control of the world

One may ask if man was created to rule the world, why it is that he is not doing so? Why is it that the events of life and circumstances are beating man down daily? Man lost control of everything when he sinned against God. So natural (man who has not received the life in Christ Jesus) man is God’s enemy and cannot please God. He is alien to the life and nature of God. “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God.” Romans 8:7-8 Instead of being victorious, man is a victim, instead glory, man is in shame. Every day of man’s life is full of sorrows and pains. Every attempt to come back to God has always being a failure.

Man is helpless so cannot help himself

Man cannot help himself because when he sinned against God the nature of sin was introduced into the world. So, every natural man is under the bondage of sin. Sin becomes inherit which is passed on to generations, even to the ones who have not committed the same kind of as that of Adam. Even man’s moral life is not good enough to restore his relationship with God and all his religious activities are fruitless attempt before God. It is no wonder the soul of man is always crying “O wretched man that I am! Who shall deliver me from the body of death?” Romans 7:24. From the day man sinned against God, death reigns over all men. Romans 5:17, “For if by one man’s offence death reigned…” so the problem of man is as a result a man’s sinned  but  that is not the plan of God for you. God has a better plan for you.

God’s redemption plan for man

God has a laid down plan for the restoration of mankind. This is because of His love for man. God is not mad at you anymore! He loves you so much as if you are the only one on earth. John 3: 16, “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  Notice the verse we just read says “whosoever” this is like a blank open cheque book, all you need to do is to put your name on it and head to the bank. In other words, God is giving you an assurance of everlasting life if you will dare to believe in Jesus Christ. Once you do this, you receive a new life. You are born again. John 3:3 “Jesus answered and said, “Verily, verily, I say unto thee, except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of god.” Jesus Christ is the way, the truth and the life.

The New Life

The new life is activated the moment you give your life to Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savour. 2 Corinthians 5: 16-17, “Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more. Therefore, if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away:  behold, all things are become new.”  The new life in Christ Jesus is a life free from sin and his nature. The only life that can make you to be qualified before God and it can also make you free from death. In the new life, you receive the gift of righteousness. Romans 5:17 “For one man’s offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ.”

Your past is gone for good in the new life. Your past is buried with Jesus when He died for us. Your past failures and mistakes don’t matter anymore. The day you were born again was a first day in your life. So don’t let anyone judge you and refuse judge yourself according to your past mistakes and failures. Refuse to allow the devil fill your mind with thought and memories of the sins you committed before you were born again, for as far as God is concerned the handwriting of sin concerning you has be

How to follow Jesus

Following Jesus is not going to church always, it is not praying always, it is not reading the bible always etc. although, all these activities are good but they do not make one a follower of Christ Jesus. Matthew 19:16-21, the rich young ruler was perfect in all of them yet something was missing which was the most important one. In the book of John 3:1 Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jew, was disqualified in spite of his knowledge of the law.              What is following Jesus? So, what is following Jesus? Following Jesus Christ is living by the word of God. Luke 4:4 and Jesus answered him saying man shall not live by bread alone, by every word of God. This is living your life according to the direction of the Word of God. It is abiding in the word of God or Jesus. John 15:4-5.     Steps to follow  ·          You must believe in Jesus Christ, John 3:16   ·          You must be born again John 3:3 ·          You must have faith in God. Heb 11:1-6 ·

Salvation is for the Living

Some people have asked if Christians could intercede on behalf of a person who died without receiving Christ, so such a person could go to heaven instead of hell. The answer is No. “For the grave cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth” Isaiah 38:18-19. Anyone who didn’t receive Christ while on earth stands condemned. In John 3:18, Jesus said, “… but he that believeth not is condemned already….”   So, the one who dies without knowing Christ, died in condemnation, and it would be of no use praying for such a one to go to heaven because the choice of whether to make heaven or not is personal one.   It’s important to realize that the salvation message is for the living and not the dead. You can only receive Christ as Lord and Saviour in response to the Gospel while you’re still in the earth. Jesus

Keys to Effectual Prayers

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him. Lord, teach us to pray… (Lake 11:1)   When you study the lives of the early prophets and the apostles, even the Lord Jesus Christ, you’d find they were very effective in their prayer lives. In our opening verse, disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray because they observed His prayers' effectiveness. So, it’s not just enough to pray; it’s the effectual, fervent prayer of the righteous man that produces results.   There’re scriptural rules and guidelines for effectual prayers. There are some things you have to pray about continually, you intercede continually; and there’re things that you pray for only once because if you keep praying about them, you’re getting into unbelief, rather than applying faith.    Meanwhile, there’re things you’re not even supposed to pray for, because no matter how long you pray about them, God is not going to respond becaus
