Your Prosperity is in Your Hands

God wants you to prosper in every area of your life, for He delights in the prosperity of His children Psalm 35:27. In 3 John 1:2 God expresses His wish above all things that you prosper and be in health, even as your soul prospers. No wonder the bible says in 2 Peter 1:3 that He has given you, “…all things that pertain unto life and godliness….” The implication of this is that in Christ Jesus you’ve come into a rich inheritance; a place of absolute prosperity.

Indeed, when you received Christ you were automatically catapulted into a glorious realm of prosperity and become not just an heir of God but a joint heir with Christ Romans 8:17. But then the bible says in Galatians 4:1, “… the heir, as long as he is a child, differenth nothing form a servant, though he be lord of all.” In other words, though you’re a joint heir with Christ, and all of God’s wealth and inestimable riches belong to you, you have to grow in the Word unto maturity to enjoy the benefits of your inheritance.

This is where meditating on the word and putting it to work in your life comes to play.  “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then shalt have good success” Joshua 1:8. As you meditate on the scriptures, the Word of God is seasoned in your spirit, such that you talk, walk and live the Word. Through meditation, you’re mingled with the word, as it were. The Bible shows this to us as the way to attain the prosperity God ordained for you. So not only is the Lord interested in your prosperity, He also shows you how to make your way prosperous. His admonition in Joshua 1:8 makes it clear that by meditating on the Word and observing to do what it says you make your way prosperous.

Now this isn’t just referring to financial prosperity, but prosperity all-round-in every aspect of your life. The Apostle Paul reiterated the same truth in 1Timothy 4:15: “Meditate on these things, give yourself completely to them that your profiting may appear to all.” When you meditate on God’s Word, your progress, advancement, prosperity, and success will spread abroad and be evident for all to see. Therefore as a child of God, the extent of your success and prosperity is entirely dependent on you. To prosper in all you do-in your job, family, health, finances, marriage, etc. – get God’s Word and continually meditate on it. This is His divine road-map for true and lasting prosperity.

You are alive by the Spirit

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you Romans 8:11. God gave birth to us by the Word, through the spirit. You’re not ordinary person if you are in Christ or if you have the new life in Christ Jesus. The human life you received from your parents has been replaced, supplanted, by the divine life of Christ. 1 Peter 1:23 says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of corruptible, by the word of god, which liveth and abideth forever.”    Often, I tell people that Christianity is more than a legal document; it’s a vital experience; there’s a true life from Christ beating in your heart which is the new life in Christ Jesus. The natural man (anyone without the New Life in Christ Jesus or anyone who is not born again) lives by blood, but a Christian lives by the Spirit. No wonder Jesus, referring to the ne...

The Reign of Death is over

Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come (Romans 5:14)  Satan became the god of this earth because he got it from Adam who lost out through disobedience, resulting significantly in the reign of death. Remember, God had told Adam, “… in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (Genesis 2:17). He was talking about spiritual death; spiritual death is the cause of physical death. So, our theme verse says, “Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses (the Law of Moses)…”  But who had the power of death? The Bible says, “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil” (Hebrews 2:14). Satan was actually behind this reign of death. Now, here’s something exciting that I want ...

The Divinity of Jesus

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father; but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, have seen him” John 14:6-7.   “Is Jesus really God?”   This is one question many still ask today. They believe He was a great prophet and teacher, but find it difficult to accept that He is Himself God, but He is. The Bible says “In the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God, and the Word was God ” John 1:1. That “Word” that the Bible says “was God” became flesh-Jesus- and dwelt among us: “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” John 1:14.     Now, the prophecy that came forth before the birth of Jesus also foretold His divinity: “Behold, a virgin shall be with a child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanue...
