Praying in other Tongues is Not Optional for the Believer

So a person “speaking in tongues” helps himself grow spiritually… 1 Corinthians 14:4.
Praying in tongues is an effective means of spiritual communication with the Lord; it transcends the natural mind or intellect 1 Corinthians 14: 14. When you speak in tongues, you are stirred; the anointing wells up like currents from your spirit. That anointing works on your mind such that you are transported to the higher realms of glory.
Our opening scripture tells us that the one who speaks in tongues “helps himself grow spiritually”; which means, for you to experience serious spiritual growth, you must speak in tongues consistently. Besides, when you pray in other tongues, you build your faith: “But ye, beloved, building up yourselves on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Ghost” Jude 1:20. Thus, for the believer, speaking in other tongues is not an option; it is a necessary requirement for your spiritual growth and upliftment.
The Weymouth’s translation of 1corinthians 14:4 says, He who speaks in an unknown tongue does good to himself.” You do good to your spirit, soul and body by speaking in other tongues. If you want to be healthy spiritually, mentally and even physically, then you must speak in tongues often.
If you are born again and have received the Holy Spirit, you can and should speak in tongues as often as possible.
You don’t need to wait for special prayer times; wherever you are, you can quietly speak in tongues under your breath. It will programme your spirit for the life of success and dominion.

You are alive by the Spirit

But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwelleth in you Romans 8:11. God gave birth to us by the Word, through the spirit. You’re not ordinary person if you are in Christ or if you have the new life in Christ Jesus. The human life you received from your parents has been replaced, supplanted, by the divine life of Christ. 1 Peter 1:23 says, “Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of corruptible, by the word of god, which liveth and abideth forever.”    Often, I tell people that Christianity is more than a legal document; it’s a vital experience; there’s a true life from Christ beating in your heart which is the new life in Christ Jesus. The natural man (anyone without the New Life in Christ Jesus or anyone who is not born again) lives by blood, but a Christian lives by the Spirit. No wonder Jesus, referring to the ne...

The Reign of Death is over

Nevertheless, death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam’s transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come (Romans 5:14)  Satan became the god of this earth because he got it from Adam who lost out through disobedience, resulting significantly in the reign of death. Remember, God had told Adam, “… in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die” (Genesis 2:17). He was talking about spiritual death; spiritual death is the cause of physical death. So, our theme verse says, “Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses (the Law of Moses)…”  But who had the power of death? The Bible says, “Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is the devil” (Hebrews 2:14). Satan was actually behind this reign of death. Now, here’s something exciting that I want ...

The Divinity of Jesus

“Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father; but by me. If ye had known me, ye should have known my Father also: and from henceforth ye know him, have seen him” John 14:6-7.   “Is Jesus really God?”   This is one question many still ask today. They believe He was a great prophet and teacher, but find it difficult to accept that He is Himself God, but He is. The Bible says “In the beginning was the Word, and the word was with God, and the Word was God ” John 1:1. That “Word” that the Bible says “was God” became flesh-Jesus- and dwelt among us: “And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth” John 1:14.     Now, the prophecy that came forth before the birth of Jesus also foretold His divinity: “Behold, a virgin shall be with a child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanue...
