Praying in tongues is a higher form of prayer

What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also 1 Corinthians14:15.
Through the years, I’ve observed that many Christians prefer to pray in the language they understand rather than pray in other tongues. Praying in your native language or any other language you are used to is what the Word of God refers to as “praying in the understanding.” But the truth is, that’s the lesser way to pray. Praying in tongues is a more effective means of communicating with God than praying in your understanding- it produces more spiritual results.
This is the reason the Apostle Paul said “I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also”, showing us the right order and priority in prayer. Praying with the understanding is the “also” but most Christians have it the other way round. They pray with their understanding and pray with their spirit also. That’s the reason a lot of them face challenges that seem to overwhelm them. Praying with the spirit comes first; praying with the understanding is the “also” part of the equation. Having it in the reverse is not what the bible teaches.
Don’t make it a habit to start out praying in your understanding and then punctuate the prayer with a few tongues here and there! Pray more in other tongues when you pray, for that’s where the power is. When you pray more in other tongues, your thoughts, words and actions will guides and dominated by the spirit and not by the senses.
So before you pray in English or any other language you’ve learnt, pray first in other tongues; speak forth mysteries! Those mysteries are the answers to your questions and the wisdom you require to deal with the challenging situation you might be facing. Before long, the Holy Spirit will bring those mysteries into your understanding and give you the interpretation. He’ll give you the right words with which to pray in your understanding, and you’ll find yourself declaring the word of God that’ll change things.

How to follow Jesus

Following Jesus is not going to church always, it is not praying always, it is not reading the bible always etc. although, all these activities are good but they do not make one a follower of Christ Jesus. Matthew 19:16-21, the rich young ruler was perfect in all of them yet something was missing which was the most important one. In the book of John 3:1 Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jew, was disqualified in spite of his knowledge of the law.              What is following Jesus? So, what is following Jesus? Following Jesus Christ is living by the word of God. Luke 4:4 and Jesus answered him saying man shall not live by bread alone, by every word of God. This is living your life according to the direction of the Word of God. It is abiding in the word of God or Jesus. John 15:4-5.     Steps to follow  ·          You must believe in Jesus Christ, John 3:16   ·          You must be born again John 3:3 ·          You must have faith in God. Heb 11:1-6 ·

Salvation is for the Living

Some people have asked if Christians could intercede on behalf of a person who died without receiving Christ, so such a person could go to heaven instead of hell. The answer is No. “For the grave cannot praise thee, death cannot celebrate thee: they that go down into the pit cannot hope for thy truth. The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth” Isaiah 38:18-19. Anyone who didn’t receive Christ while on earth stands condemned. In John 3:18, Jesus said, “… but he that believeth not is condemned already….”   So, the one who dies without knowing Christ, died in condemnation, and it would be of no use praying for such a one to go to heaven because the choice of whether to make heaven or not is personal one.   It’s important to realize that the salvation message is for the living and not the dead. You can only receive Christ as Lord and Saviour in response to the Gospel while you’re still in the earth. Jesus

Keys to Effectual Prayers

And it came to pass, that, as he was praying in a certain place, when he ceased, one of his disciples said unto him. Lord, teach us to pray… (Lake 11:1)   When you study the lives of the early prophets and the apostles, even the Lord Jesus Christ, you’d find they were very effective in their prayer lives. In our opening verse, disciples asked Him to teach them how to pray because they observed His prayers' effectiveness. So, it’s not just enough to pray; it’s the effectual, fervent prayer of the righteous man that produces results.   There’re scriptural rules and guidelines for effectual prayers. There are some things you have to pray about continually, you intercede continually; and there’re things that you pray for only once because if you keep praying about them, you’re getting into unbelief, rather than applying faith.    Meanwhile, there’re things you’re not even supposed to pray for, because no matter how long you pray about them, God is not going to respond becaus
